I’m delighted to announce that Mental Health FC CIC won the SILVER AWARD at the Football Content Awards 2025 for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Organisation 🤯

There were 14 other fantastic organisations up for the award, and a huge congratulations to the gold award winner Her Game Too and the bronze winner Manchester Football Association 👏

MHFC has been running for 28 months and it’s achieved the following four awards….

🥇Sheffield & Hallamshire – CFA grassroots football awards 2024 Keeping football positive award
🥇Heart of Doncaster awards 2024 – Choose kindness award – north
🥇Doncaster Civic Mayor’s award 2025
🥈Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Organisation – Football Content Awards

💚 Awards are nice and show we’re doing something right, but of course the most important thing as always is that we continue to make a positive impact on people, their mental health and their lives 😊

In those 28 months, it’s fantastic to know we’ve helped so many people and families through MHFC, improving their mental health and lives for the better, and this is just the start as we add more sessions and launch in more areas to help and support more people throughout the UK 💪

😔 I would’ve loved to be there in person to celebrate and meet all the wonderful people at the event, but unfortunately this one had too many factors going against me mentally and my anxiety won 🤦‍♂️

It’s the first awards night I’ve been invited to and not attended, so I feel slightly beaten, but I know it would’ve been a huge struggle.

Hopefully next year I’ll be there in person if we’re lucky to be finalists again 🤞

🙌 THANK YOU again to everyone who supports and helps with MHFC, volunteers, people who help out at sessions, sponsors, followers on social media etc….

💚 We have very big plans for MHFC, unfortunately they’re taking longer than hoped to put into place due to lack of funding however, we’re still slowly working through them.
The ultimate goal is to reach, help, support, encourage and improve the mental health and lives of people and families throughout ALL the UK, regardless of age, gender, ability, fitness, race, religion etc, but all through football 💪

Just some of the plans 💭
– Mixed sessions
– Kids sessions
– Teen sessions
– Women’s only sessions
– Walking football
– Toddler sessions
– Kids school holiday camps
– SEN sessions
– MHFC Experiences
– MHFC Surprises
– Mental health talks to schools, universities, businesses, prisons etc
– Train people for mental health first aid
– Mental health support for injured players, released players, refs, players suffering discrimination, retired players, female players, players struggling in general etc
– And throughout ALL of the UK, so we can help and support people in all towns and cities 🇬🇧

Hopefully we can get the support of the FA, NHS, Councils and other big organisations to really fast-track the above plans, put them in place and really start positively impacting people’s lives and families for the better, in all areas of the UK 🤞
(Local councillors and local FA’s have been great, but to really grow, develop and have the impact I/we want, we need big and ongoing support from the top of big organisations 🙏)

We’re having a huge impact on 100s of people and families in Doncaster and Scunthorpe with basic support (which we’re grateful for but means we’re just sustainable but struggling to grow and expand), just imagine the scale and size of the impact if MHFC was properly supported and backed 🤯

I’m ready, MHFC is ready, it just needs the additional support to make things happen and quicker, people NEED it 💚

If anyone has any connections with people within and high up in organisations that could help support MHFC, to grow, develop and help more people, please let me know.

SHOUTOUT to Doncaster Belles and Doncaster based Adam Gittings for making the finalist lists in their categories 👏

(Thank you, Adam for bringing the award from the event 😊)
