On Saturday, we’d been donated an executive hospitality box for the Doncaster Rovers game vs Wigan by our long term sponsors IFS Risk Solutions.
We had a great bunch of people in the box, we invited the remaining volunteers who help run MHFC (some unfortunately couldn’t make it), and alongside them we also invited families who were part of MHFC sessions and were also big DRFC fans with season tickets.
You can read just how much the experience meant to them….
“Me, my dad and my brother have been lifelong Rovers fans, so watching a match from a box has always been a proper bucket-list moment for all three of us. When we found out we were finally going to experience it together, the excitement was unreal.
From start to finish, the day was brilliant. The box itself was fantastic, the food was outstanding (pie and chips, obviously), and arriving early really added to the whole pre-match buzz. We had a great view of the game and could see the Black Bank where we usually stand, which made it feel even more special. What made it better still was spending the day completely centred around football, surrounded by people I’ve played with over the last two years at Mental Health FC, alongside my dad and brother.
Watching what was easily the best first half of the season from the box was everything I’d hoped for. It truly ticked off a bucket-list experience — just a shame about the second-half result.
To top it all off, me and my brother got to meet two of our favourite players after the game, who signed our shirts (Molyneux, Bailey & Broadbent), along with the Man of the Match (Gotts). Those shirts are now prized possessions and will definitely be getting framed.
A huge thank you to IFS Risk Solutions for what was an incredible experience and a truly memorable day.”

And this is one of the reasons why I do these MHFC Experiences and MHFC Surprises, reading and knowing how much people love them and really get so much from them is fantastic to see and gives me a lift as well.
Especially when they can enjoy it together as a family.
Lee, who attended with his brother and Daughter also said….
“Myself, my brother, my daughter, and others, had the pleasure of attending the Rovers v Wigan game, courtesy of IFS Risk Solutions.
It was an excellent day from start to finish, and everyone was extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity. The experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all and created some wonderful memories.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to IFS Risk Solutions for their generosity and hospitality. It was truly appreciated by everyone who attended.”
As the others said, thank you so much to IFS Risk Solutions, not only for donating the box for a game, but also for all the ongoing support they give us with our sessions and our shirt!!
‘MHFC EXPERIENCES’ and ‘MHFC SURPRISES’ are something we hope to do more of in the future, it could be tickets to a game, hospitality, meet and greet, signed merch, stadium tour, or anything else we could sort for the MHFC community members or anyone else we hear about.
The more we can do for people, the better and give as many different people as many different opportunities and experiences as possible to give them a mental boost 🤞🙏
Maybe something they’ve never been able to attend before, but we can give them that opportunity 💚
‼️If anyone has any links or contacts to people at sports clubs that could help us provide these experiences, please get in touch 😊
